About Cadavre Exquis

For winter 2025-26, Mini Galleries joins Cadavre Exquis — a cross-disciplinary arts series presented by our friends at Theatre 1308 and curated by composer and violinist Jeremy Gignoux. Inspired by the surrealist game of “exquisite corpse,” the project unfolds as a creative chain reaction: each artist responds only to the work that came directly before them. Music sparks visual art, visual art inspires new music — and the dialogue continues.

As part of this unfolding conversation, Mini Galleries featured a selection of participating artists in our winter exhibition.

The artists taking part in this Mini Exhibition are:

Jonathan Creese; La Güita; Monica Ila; Terry Gregoraschuk, Verna Vogel and Wanda Ellerbeck accompanied by music samples from Jairus Sharif, Jeremy Gignoux, and Jiajia Li.

Each gallery box offers a glimpse into the unique perspectives these artists. Moving from one gallery to the next, visitors are invited to experience the dynamic interplay between sound and image — a quiet preview of the collaborative energy that will shape the series throughout the year. At the heart of Cadavre Exquis is an ongoing dialogue between sound and image. The Mini Galleries offer a first look into this evolving conversation, where compositions, images, and artistic voices will shape and reshape one another.

This exhibition was featured in the Rotary Park Mini Galleries from January 11 to February 28, 2026
