This monument was created in 1967 to mark Canada's 100th anniversary.

A curved wall shows a map of Canada, and below it, on the ground, is a stylized maple leaf. This maple leaf is made from a number of triangles, each formed from rock from a different province or territory. Together these triangles represent the country of Canada. Although this work was a good representation of Canada in 1967, the map is now outdated: Nunavut is missing! This installation was donated to The City of Calgary, built with funds raised by the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire, a charitable organization.
