As a young artist, chance played a role in her art. When a ceramic pot was accidentally destroyed in the kiln, she was intrigued by the shards. She imaginatively re-united the parts by creating abstract beings, with "heads" set on top of columnar "necks". The bisected elements of the spheres recall the broken vessel that had inspired her.
