The head of a bald eagle is depicted looking out over the community as it nurtures and protects two eggs nestled in the nest.

Calgary-based artists Rachel Ziriada and Mikhail Miller worked collaboratively under the name NASARIMBA to create this mural in Fall of 2023. It’s 50ft tall on the Flyover Block resulting in a bold and colourful addition to the community of Bridgeland and to the view of commuters as they enter the downtown area along Memorial Drive and the 4th Avenue flyover. The mural “Eagle’s Nest” reflects the architectural concept of the building. The head of a bald eagle is depicted looking out over the community as it nurtures and protects two eggs nestled in the nest. The sun, moon, and water droplet pay homage to the changing of the seasons and the cycles of life. A lodgepole pine tree and a reference to the river are included as elements of the Bow River valley ecosystem, which is a defining feature of Mohkinstsis and this part of the Treaty 7 region. NASARIMBA is honored to be able to share this artwork with the public and we are grateful for the opportunity to add our mural to the city’s landscape.
