Reflections and Flow

Michael Grills

Five artworks placed throughout the Canyon Meadows Aquatic and Fitness Centre incorporate thoughts and stories about life in the area and reflect the coming and going of visitors to the centre.

About this work

Installed throughout the public spaces in the lobby, stairwell, and upstairs hall, "Reflections and Flow" was created by Calgary based artist and illustrator Michael Grills. The artist used two layers of acrylic panels and a reflective background to create visually rich images that change based on the viewing angles and reflections. As you pass by the artworks the reflections change and a sense of movement is implied.
