Seed Pod
"Seed Pod" features a stylized bronze sculpture of a prairie wild flower seed head. The surrounding pod serves as a shelter to the seed and a gathering place where people can meet, sit in contemplation and relax.
About the work
The artwork only reveals itself to those who make the trek up to the top of the hill. It consists of two parts, the pod and the seed. The pod is a concrete structure integrated into the earth forming a large oval shape that provides three seating platforms. The seed is in the centre of the pod and references the seed head of a native prairie wild flower.
